We help organizations create environments where employees feel connected to each other and inspired by a shared purpose. The result? Higher engagement, lower turnover, and a culture that fuels your brand from the inside out.

Equipping Dentists for Leadership Success Within a DSO

The Challenge

Clinicians—whether trained in dentistry, medicine, or behavioral health—are often taught to lead with precision, expertise, and care for the individual. But as the healthcare landscape evolves, many are now expected to manage teams, drive business outcomes, and shape organizational culture—responsibilities not typically covered in their clinical training.

Within Dental Support Organizations (DSOs), this shift is especially visible. Dentists are no longer solely focused on patient care; they’re also being asked to lead practices, motivate diverse teams, and navigate the complexities of business operations. For many, this transition can feel overwhelming—challenging long-held beliefs about what it means to be a clinician.

The opportunity was clear—redefine clinical leadership not as a burden, but as a natural extension of the care mission. Empowering dentists to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategy would unlock both individual potential and organizational performance

Our Approach

We partnered with the clinical and executive teams to design and implement a blended development program that combined one-on-one coaching with team-based workshops—tailored specifically for clinicians and the way they think and learn.

Using real case scenarios drawn from everyday clinical leadership challenges, we focused on building skills in adaptive leadership, communication, and decision-making. The content was designed to resonate with how clinicians process information: clear, relevant, and immediately applicable.

The Results:

Within the first year, the program had a visible, organization-wide impact:

  • Improved team morale and engagement, with clinical leads reporting more confidence and clarity in their roles.

  • Increased interest in elective services, attributed to smoother operations and a stronger patient experience.

  • Higher retention of women clinicians and staff, as new leadership tools helped create more inclusive, supportive environments.

  • Positive feedback from regional leaders, who said they finally had a leadership model that felt relevant and realistic for their teams.

The Insight:
When clinicians see leadership as a natural extension of their healing mission—rooted in empathy, clarity, and shared values—whole teams thrive. Patient outcomes improve, staff stay longer, and growth becomes sustainable. Leadership isn’t a distraction from care; it’s a force multiplier for it.

“ I’ve worked with many coaches and trainers over the years, but this was the first time someone translated leadership into language I could actually use in practice. It wasn’t abstract—it was clear, actionable, and grounded in how clinicians think.”

Unlocking Growth and Inclusion Through Empathy-Driven Coaching

The Challenge
Voices-Collective, a company that sources patient and caregiver stories for healthcare and life sciences organizations, identified an opportunity to support the development of two high-potential female leaders. Both were deeply empathetic and well-respected internally—but struggled with confidence in high-stakes presentations. They wanted to be seen as both warm and competent, but often felt pressure to downplay one in order to convey the other. Their challenge wasn’t skills—it was self-trust and presence under pressure.

The Approach
Through True Selves Consulting’s empathy-driven coaching model, we helped these leaders show up with authenticity, own their expertise, and lead with both heart and authority.

  • Coaching for Alignment: One-on-one sessions focused on building self-awareness and dismantling internalized beliefs around likability and authority. We clarified what leadership looked like when rooted in their values.

  • Empowerment Techniques: We introduced behavioral-science-backed strategies including breathwork, body language calibration, and narrative framing to help them regulate nerves, project confidence, and connect with audiences.

  • Mentorship Framework: We co-developed a mentorship model to help other women in the organization navigate similar challenges—turning personal growth into a wider cultural shift.

The Results
The transformation translated into clear business outcomes:

  • Stronger Client Relationships: With increased executive presence, the leaders built deeper trust with clients—leading to new opportunities and stronger delivery.

  • More Confident Communication: Presentations became a platform for influence, not anxiety—unlocking greater visibility and impact.

  • Cultural Ripple Effect: Their transformation modeled a new kind of leadership, inspiring others to lead with both warmth and authority.

  • New Funding Secured: The company’s sharpened positioning and strengthened leadership team played a key role in securing an additional round of funding.

The Insight
When organizations create space for women to integrate empathy and expertise, they don’t have to choose between being liked and being respected. Voices-Collective saw firsthand how empathy-driven leadership—grounded in confidence and clarity—becomes a force multiplier for performance, connection, and growth.
